A Picture & 100 Words: A Colorful Look at Carnaval in Valencia

A Colorful Look at Carnaval

In February, my friend asked if I could take photos of the three-day Carnaval de Valencia celebration held in the Spanish city's famous Russafa neighborhood. She helped organize the event and needed a photographer to capture the festivities.

I didn't hesitate to say yes. I immediately thought of the vibrant floats, flowing dresses, and painted faces.

It was a beautiful event of music, color, and culture—a union of traditions, with over 70 groups and 2000 dancers representing Spain and dozens of Latin American nations.

There were so many beautiful moments, with thousands of spectators hitting the streets to experience the incredible food, performances, and parades.

The Only Two People You Should Try to Impress A mother and her daughter at Carnaval de Valencia - March 2024 As a teenager, I was always trying to impress someone. Whether it was the crowd at a sporting event or a girl at the mall, I sought validation in the words and reactions of others. I couldn't conjure self-acceptance, so I continued seeking. Conquer the Fear of Flying When I was six, my family went to San Diego to visit relatives. I had the aisle seat on the outbound flight, and my brother had the window.
